Deposits, prepayment and no-show protection
Decide who pays up front, how much, and whether repeat no-shows are asked for a deposit automatically. · Updated 11/09/2026
Payment rules live under Payments → Payment rules. You'll need your Stripe account connected first (see Connecting Stripe).
Who pays up front
- Nobody — everyone books free and pays you in person.
- Everyone — every online booking pays before the slot is held.
- Only customers I've flagged — most shops choose this. Regulars book as normal; people with a history of missing appointments are asked to pay.
How much
- A deposit — a percentage of the price (20% is common) or a fixed amount.
- The full price — paid in advance, useful for courses, classes and long appointments.
Automatic flagging
Set how many missed appointments or late cancellations it takes before someone is asked for a deposit — two no-shows or three cancellations works well. It counts automatically from their history with you.
You can also flag or unflag any individual on their customer page, whatever the counts say.
Marking someone as a no-show
Open the appointment and press No-show. That's what feeds the counts, so keep it up to date — it's also what protects you next time.
Refunds
Refund a deposit in full or in part from the booking, or from Payments → History. Money goes back to the customer's card in a few working days.
Cancellation window
Under Settings → Booking rules you set how many hours before an appointment customers can still cancel or move it themselves. Inside that window they have to ring you.
