Collecting and showing customer reviews
Ask customers for a star rating automatically, approve what goes public, reply to reviews and show them on your website. · Updated 10/09/2026
Reviews live under Marketing → Reviews and are included on every plan.
Ask automatically
1. Open Marketing → Reviews. 2. Turn on Ask automatically after each visit. 3. Choose how many hours to wait after the appointment (4 hours works well). 4. Optionally turn on Send one polite reminder and set how long to wait. 5. Save.
From then on, whenever you mark an appointment as finished, the customer gets a branded email with five stars to tap. Customers without an email address on file are skipped.
Ask someone right now
The Ask a customer now list shows finished appointments from the last 90 days that haven't been asked yet. Press Ask for a review next to anyone you'd like to hear from.
Deciding what goes public
- Publish automatically on means reviews appear on your website as soon as they arrive.
- Only publish automatically from lets you auto-publish 4 and 5 stars while lower ratings wait for you.
- Turn auto-publish off to approve every single review yourself.
Anything waiting shows in the Waiting tab. Press Show publicly or Hide on each one.
Replying, featuring and deleting
Every review has a reply box — your reply appears underneath the review on your website. Use Feature to pin your favourites to the top, and Delete to remove anything abusive or fake.
Showing reviews on your website
On a BookAppointment website: go to Website → Website builder, add a section and choose Customer reviews. You can set how many to show and whether to show your average.
On another website: copy the embed code from the Reviews page and paste it into your page — it works on WordPress, Wix, Squarespace and plain HTML.
Google reviews
Set Suggest a Google review from to 4 or 5 and add your Google review link under Website → Contact & socials. Customers who rate you highly are invited to share it on Google as well.
Your ratings on Google, TripAdvisor and elsewhere
Under Your ratings elsewhere on the Reviews page, add each place you're rated: where it is (Google, TripAdvisor, Facebook, Trustpilot…), your score out of 5, how many reviews you have, and a link to the page.
Each one shows as a small badge above your reviews on your website and in the embed — for example "4.9 on Google (128)" — and customers can click through to read them in full. You can add up to six.
Keep the scores honest and up to date: customers can follow the link and check. We can't read them from Google automatically yet — that needs Google's approval, which we're working on.
What customers see
Reviews are shown with the name they choose and their star rating. Their email address is never shown publicly.
