Two-step sign-in: text message or authenticator app

Set up a 6-digit sign-in code by text, by authenticator app, or both — and choose which to use when you sign in. · Updated 09/09/2026

Owners and admins are asked for a second code when signing in. You can get that code two ways.

Text message (easiest)

1. Go to Your account, then Security. 2. Under Text-message codes, choose Set up text-message codes. 3. Enter your mobile number and confirm the 6-digit code we text you.

Codes last 10 minutes and can only be used once. If your business has its own text sender name, codes arrive from that name.

Authenticator app

Under Two-factor authentication, scan the QR code with Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password or similar, then enter the 6-digit code to switch it on.

Choosing a method at sign-in

  • One method set up: we use it automatically.
  • Both set up: you pick which one on the sign-in screen, and you can switch method at any point.

If you don't get the text

  • Check the number under Your account, then Security.
  • Ask for a new code with Send a new code.
  • Still nothing? Use your authenticator app if you have one, or contact support.
