Redirects: keeping your Google ranking when your web addresses change
Point old page addresses at their new homes, import a list in one go, and fix the addresses visitors couldn't find. · Updated 11/09/2026
When you move your website to BookAppointment, some page addresses usually change — your old /about-us might now be /about. A redirect tells browsers and search engines where the page went, so links people have shared and your position in Google carry over instead of ending in a "page not found".
Add a redirect
1. Go to Website → Redirects 2. Press Add redirect 3. Enter the old address exactly as it was, starting with a slash — for example /about-us 4. Enter the new address on your BookAppointment site — for example /about 5. Leave the type as Permanent unless the move really is temporary 6. Save
Match a whole folder
Choose Folder instead of Exact and everything beneath that address is redirected. For example /news as a folder sends /news/anything to your new news page.
Import a list
If your old website gave you a list of addresses, press Import list and paste one redirect per line as old address, new address. Anything already set up is skipped.
Addresses visitors couldn't find
Every time somebody lands on an address that doesn't exist on your site, we log it under Missing addresses, with how many times it happened. Press Redirect next to one to point it somewhere useful, or dismiss it if it's not worth bothering with.
Good to know
- Redirects only apply to your own website address, never to anyone else's
- Your booking pages and account areas can't be redirected, so a mistake can't lock you out
- Anything after a ? in the address is kept, so tracked links from ads still work
- Turn a redirect off with the switch instead of deleting it if you want to test something
