Bringing your old blog posts across from your existing website

If your current website has a blog or news section, you don't need to retype it.

How to import

1. Go to Website → Import 2. Enter your current website address 3. Press Find my posts 4. Untick anything you don't want, then press Bring selected posts across

I read your site's news feed where it has one, or the blog page itself where it doesn't. Titles, dates, category tags, wording, emphasis, links and available article pictures come across.

What happens next

• Posts arrive as drafts under Website → News posts so you can check them before anyone sees them
• The original publish dates are kept where we can read them
• With old links enabled, a redirect is added only when an article's address changes
• Tick Publish them straight away during the import if you'd rather skip the draft stage

Things worth checking

• Check the cover and inline pictures against the source; pictures may still depend on the old website's image host
• Very unusual layouts may import as plain wording; tidy the post in the editor afterwards
• The post finder can bring across up to 30 posts at a time
• Importing an article from the same source address again refreshes that article instead of creating a duplicate

Browsing your news

Your own /news or /blog page has category filters and working links to article pages. Article pages show categories and latest news on the right, with that panel staying visible while scrolling on computers. On phones it appears below the article. Ticketing businesses also show a Book tickets link.
