Set up age & ID verification (18+ services)

For age-restricted services — tattoos, piercings, tanning and some aesthetics treatments — you can require ID verification before a customer is allowed to book.

Choose a verification mode

Go to App › Settings › Payments and find ID verification. Three modes are available:

• Manual — staff check ID in person (or over a call) and mark the customer as verified from their profile. No extra cost.
• Automated — customers verify themselves online via Stripe Identity before booking, uploading a photo ID and a selfie for automatic matching.
• Choice — customers can pick either: verify automatically online for speed, or wait and be verified manually in person.

The automated check fee

When automated verification is enabled, the customer pays a small one-off fee to run the check (Stripe Identity has a real per-check cost). You control:

• Customer price — what the customer is charged for the check.
• Your share — how much of that you keep; the rest covers the platform's Stripe Identity cost.

Set both under App › Settings › Payments › ID verification. The customer price must always be higher than your share.

Requiring it on a service

• Open the service in App › Services and tick Requires age verification.
• Bookings for that service are blocked until the customer has a verified record on file, either from a manual staff check or a completed Stripe Identity session.
