Block out lunch: regular breaks for every team member
Set a repeating break — 13:30 to 14:00 every day for lunch, or an hour on a Thursday — and nobody can book over it, online or in the diary.
By BookAppointment

Almost every shop we work with has the same unwritten rule: nobody books over lunch. Until now you had to remember it, or add time off every single day.
From today you set it once.
Where to set it
Team members set their own under My settings → Regular breaks. Owners and managers can set one for anybody from the Breaks button on Services & staff → Team.
Give it a start time, an end time and a name — "Lunch", "School run", "Cash up" — and choose whether it repeats every day or falls on one weekday only.
What it changes
- The break disappears from your online booking times, so customers never see it offered
- The booking assistant won't suggest it either
- The diary shows the slot as unavailable, so nobody drops a walk-in into it by accident
- Anything already booked stays put — a new break never cancels an appointment
Pause instead of delete
Quiet January and you're happy to work through lunch? Switch the break off with the toggle and switch it back on later. Nothing is lost.
Still there for one-offs
Regular breaks are for the things that happen every week. For a holiday, a dentist appointment or a training day, keep using time off — that still blocks a date range.
Breaks belong to your business only, are included in your account backup, and take effect the moment you save them.
