Your customer list is the most valuable thing your business owns. So it has always struck us as odd that so much booking software makes getting a copy of it feel like asking a favour.
From today, every BookAppointment account has a Download your data page. Press one button and you get a single zip file containing your whole account, as spreadsheets.
What you get
- Customers, with contact details, notes, visit history and marketing preferences
- Every appointment, past and upcoming, with service, team member, price and status
- Payments, deposits, refunds and tips
- Services, prices, add-ons and options
- Your team, their working hours and time off
- Reviews and review requests
- Email campaigns and who received them
- Your website pages, content and settings
Everything inside is a CSV spreadsheet, so it opens straight in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets. There is also a plain-English README listing what is in the archive.
How to do it
- Open Settings → Download your data.
- Press Create a backup.
- Your download starts, and we email you a private link as well.
The link is yours alone and stops working after seven days. You can make a fresh backup once a day.
Why it is free
Charging a business for a copy of its own records would be indefensible, so we don't. It is included on every plan, including the trial.
A note on safety
Because a backup contains your customers' contact details, only the account owner can create one. Keep the file somewhere sensible and delete old copies you no longer need.
Separately, we take our own protected copies of the entire system. If something ever goes wrong at our end, restoring it is our job — you don't need these backups for that. This feature is about you being able to hold your own data, whenever you want it.
