Cash, bank transfer and refunds

Take payment however the customer wants to pay — contactless, card, cash or bank transfer — and refund all or part of it in a couple of taps.

Money doesn't always arrive the same way. Someone pays contactless on your phone, the next person only has cash, and the one after that wants to send a bank transfer. Now all three sit side by side on the same screen.

Four ways to be paid

Open an appointment (or the Payments screen) and tap Take payment:

  • Contactless on your iPhone — the customer holds their card or phone near yours.
  • Card — a payment link/screen for anything you can't tap.
  • Cash — mark it paid, tip included.
  • Bank transfer — your account details appear on screen to show the customer.

Tips work with every option, and the appointment is marked paid as soon as the money is in.

Bank transfer, safely

Add your account name, sort code and account number once under Payments → In-person payments. Only you and your team can see them — they're never shown on your booking site. When a customer wants to pay that way, the details come up on a single clean screen you can turn towards them, and you tap Payment received once you can see the money in your account.

Refunds, in full or in part

Every appointment now lists the payments taken on it. Owners and admins can refund the whole amount or just part of it, with an optional reason, and the appointment's paid status updates itself. Cash and bank transfer can be marked refunded too, since that money is handed back in person. Refunded an appointment by mistake? The Take payment button comes straight back so you can charge it again.

Clearer at a glance

Card attempts that were cancelled or never finished used to look like completed payments. They now read as cancelled, with no refund button. And your diary in the iPhone app shows each appointment's payment status underneath the time, with a Take payment button on anything still unpaid.
