Tap a gap to fill it, block a run of days

The diary should work the way you point at it. From today it does.

Tap a gap

Tap any empty time — on the website or in the phone app — and a small panel appears for that exact time:

• Add booking opens the booking form with the day, time and person already filled in.
• Block time out takes a length in the same minute steps your diary uses, plus a reason like "Lunch" or "Delivery", and blocks it there and then.

Repeat a block

Lunch every day, a college afternoon every Thursday, a fortnight off — turn on Repeat block, choose how many days in a row and how many extra weeks, and we list the exact dates before you save.

Holidays you can actually see

Booked time off now shades out the whole day with a plane and the reason on it, and nothing can be booked into it. A Hide time off switch drops anyone who's away out of the day view, so a bank-holiday week isn't half empty columns.

Quick controls for each person

Under every name on the day view there's now a small menu:

• Collapse column — shrink someone to a slim strip and click to reopen.
• Next available appointment — jump straight to their first free time, ready to book.
• Change hours — different start and finish for that day only, or mark them as not working.
• Block day / slots — the whole day or a period of it.
• Add comment — a note on the day the team can see.

There's also a Book button at the top of the calendar and a + beside each name for their next free slot. Cancelled appointments now shrink to a small crossed-out marker, so you can book or block the time they were holding.
